2025 Event
The 2025 Event was held on Monday 17th March at the Sorrento Golf Club, 18 Langford Rd, Sorrento, VIC, 3943.
Thirty teams of past students of member schools competed in an 18-hole stableford event on a mild but partly windy and overcast day. Despite the early cold wind the day cleared to cool and patchy, sunny conditions. A day ideal for golf as is reflected in many of the scores! Four players from each school played in mixed groups with members from other schools. We were delighted to have the support of Golf Australia this year, who donated a number of prizes: a Bushnell Range finder, Oakley Sunglasses & a dozen Callaway golf balls. Many thanks also to the Sorrento Golf Club for their generous donation of a game of golf for 4 people. This is primarily a charity event with an 8:30 am shot gun start followed by a delicious light lunch.
Each year a team of helpers run a produce stall with fresh products, cakes, jams, pickles etc. This year was no exception and there was an abundance of products on the stall. All money contributed to the stall and raffle, provide much needed money to support McAuley Community Services for Women. All the produce went and over $1500 was raised. The raffle was also well supported with over $1100 being taken. Once out costs are subtracted we should have a healthy donation to give to our charity McAuley House.McAuley Community Services for Women is changing lives and tackling complex and connected problems. The charity supports women and children who have faced family violence and homelessness to take control of their lives.
